HISTORY:
From an historic wine cellar located in the heart of Barcelona’s old town, Max and Stefano Colombo have transformed Can Cisa into Bar Brutal. Our pioneer natural wine bistro that to this day strives to satisfy the gourmands and the bonvivants serving authenticity with a free attitude.
In 2026 - 13 years later - we feel so grateful to continue championing the small, the independents, the crazies, the creatives and the luminaries.
MISSION:
Since its unconventional opening in 2013, Bar Brutal’s intention has always been to offer an experience that goes far beyond just gastronomy. Not just a physical location, more so an open space for real human connections.
Our mission is to continue serving honest food and great wine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to have a memorable time.
Open 7 days a week for our customers - old and new - and their exigent support. An incredible pool of people that at Bar Brutal we are proud to call home.
WINE
Over time, we have accumulated a small treasure of over 2,000 references of wines from the more classic to the most disturbing. We have gathered a team of sommeliers that are sensitive to our customers’ different moods, tastes, sensibilities and levels of experience. You are in good hands!
FOOD
Since its inception, our food offer is designed around the natural rhythm of the seasons with a very direct short supply chain. Our plates – all conceived to share – are meant to highlight the best flavors nature has to offer at any given time. We work to preserve ingredient integrity and to foster a transparent connection between producers and our guests.
SUSTAINABILITY
Moreover, sustainability is at the heart of everything we imagine and produce. This conscious effort is made through responsible choices at every step of our process without losing the free and rebellious spirit behind every dish, wine or product that we serve.
We pride ourselves in prioritising quality over quantity. We set up long term working partnerships with nearby farms, fisheries, and producers to guarantee not only access to the best ingredients but also business security for our providers .
