      Together with Apartamento we joined forces in the attempt to put on paper what has been happening here since 2013the wines, the people, the dinners, the chaos, and everything in between.
      Bar Brutal has always been the place where winemakers, sommeliers, chefs, musicians, and wanton drinkers end up feeling that something was taking shape between the never-ending party and an intimate knowledge of wine. We still don't fully understand it either, but we made a book about it.

      Over 320 pages, you'll find our first official cookbook with 26 recipes, wild collage sections that merge archival imagery with the stories - or confessions - of 80-odd contributors, including Stefano Colombo, Joan Ramón Escoda, 2manydjs, Peggy Gou, Gilles Peterson, Christian Tschida, Aziz Ansari, Nuria Renom, John Wurdeman, Thierry Puzelat, LCD Soundsystem and many more people who probably said things they didn't expect to say.

      Photo essays by Adrià Cañameras, Nacho Alegre, and Yago Castromil document the dinners, the bottles, the faces, and the spaces, day and night, as they actually looked. Four written chapters trace how this place came to be and what it became.

      The whole thing was brought together by Madeleine Willis, former Apartamento editor and one of our most loyal regulars. Over a decade of happy, chaotic, expansive service, and now, somehow, a book.
