Bar Brutal is launching a fundraising campaign for Venezuela - and we need you - our beautiful community! Our quest: raise 10,000€ for earthquake relief efforts.

Junior Martinez conceived a special limited edition T-shirt: an homage to Gerd Leufert using the identity of the International Maiquetía Airport, a historic symbol of movements today impossible! The work of the emblematic Venezuelan designer embodies the beauty, optimism, and visual culture of a Venezuela remembered for its creativity and hope.

All proceeds will be donated to World Central Kitchen in support of their initiative, "Help us provide fresh meals to communities in Venezuela,” to ensure affected families, emergency responders, and frontline workers have reliable access to fresh meals delivered with urgency, dignity, and care.

Countless communities in Venezuela are facing unimaginable loss after the 2 recent earthquakes. As an estimate of 50K missing people is still terrifyingly plausible, many families continue to look out for their loved ones without proper access to a roof, medicines or a meal of their own. Governmental support has been painfully insufficient, leaving people to rely on the resilience of the local community and international solidarity.

How World Central Kitchen is Supporting Communities in Venezuela

In Venezuela, WCK teams are working alongside local partners to do everything we can to support communities impacted by the earthquakes. We’re listening the communities’ needs and adapting our response to make sure families and first responders get the support they need. Take a look at all of the different ways we’re doing so:

Naiguatá Field Kitchen

We’ve established a large-capacity kitchen in La Guaira designed to produce up to 30,000 hot meals every day, bringing large-scale meal production closer to the hardest-hit communities.

Local Partnerships

We’re working with dozens of local restaurants to serve meals full of traditional flavors. These partnerships allowed us to serve meals immediately after the earthquakes struck.

Food Trucks

Food truck partners are serving meals across key locations to expand our reach, preparing fresh meals on-site and ensuring more communities get the support they need.

Ice and Water Distribution

With high temperatures and ongoing power outages, we’re distributing thousands of bags of ice to help families stay cool and preserve food. The ice also brings relief to first responders working long hours in the unrelenting heat.

Community-Centric Approach

Every meal we serve is made with the community in mind. Our teams are distributing local favorites like arepas, cachitos, and hot dogs to bring moments of comfort to families and first responders.

After hearing repeated requests from neighbors and volunteers, our teams went beyond food. We are now also delivering shovels, pickaxes, hammers, and essential tools to support search and rescue efforts.

Traversing Tough Terrain

When roads are blocked and buildings have collapsed, we use every resource available to get there. In La Guaira, that means motorbikes—nimble enough to navigate difficult roads and reach people searching tirelessly through the rubble for their loved ones.
